Valentine Treats

Stella has been asking to use her new cookbook from Mimi that she received for Christmas and we finally got around to it last week. She has been going to the cookbook looking for ingredients that match what she can find in the refrigerator. Several times we have been giving Will a bath or putting him down and came back thru the kitchen to find Stella creating a loving masterpiece: broken eggs, shells and all, in a bowl with sugar, flour, and a spoon for mixing. "I'm making a cake" she states! I'm not sure when or where she got the idea, since her mother never has time to bake. But persistence is her strength and finally we bought all the necessary ingredients to make good ole fashion Rice Crispy Treats. And boy, they were as good as I remember. The red icing for hearts was Stella's idea, since we couldn't find a heart shaped cookie cutter at the grocery store. Enjoy, Mimi! We love and miss you! Papa, too!

  1. Oh, this is adorable! Wish we were there to taste the valentine treats! They look delish! My daddy especially loved rice-krispie treats, I remember. I'll bet Stella's cake was tasty, also...surely you let her bake it! :) !! I find it hard to believe that Stella would try to boss Will...awww! But that is actually what big sisters are supposed to do to little brothers...just ask Sam! Thank you for the wonderful valentine! We love you all!

  3. I am so excited you guys have a blog! I love checking out the pictures of Stella & Will. They are so cute. By the way, Adam talks about Stella CONSTANTLY. It is really out of control and usually in a negative way like "Stella is a stinky girl". But it has been happening daily since Thanksgiving. We were a little concerned until we finally realized that he must have a little crush on her and she is on his mind ALOT! We were actually out to dinner tonight with Noel & the boys and I heard Stellas name come up several times between Bentley & Adam. When we went to leave I noticed Adam had drawn a picture at the table and it was of Stella and had her name on it. Too funny.

  4. Remember the first Christmas that Stella had to "stand with a fist" in the midst of all those boys here?! She was just about fifteen months old, but she had the savvy to hold her ground! I believe it made an impression on all those boys, not to mention the fact that she is simply double gorgeous! Her grandmother ADORES her...so does her Papa!
